catherine j-n christopher
bio
catherine was born and raised on the south east shore of long island. she moved to maryland in 2000.
​
her paintings are both unique in style and materials. she uses a light weight dimensional decorative plaster that is applied in layers with japan scrapers.
the material is infused with mica powder and gives the paintings shimmer. the layers appear to create texture and yet there is very little texture in the finished piece.
